Mathis Farmer’s Almanac
The Old Farmer’s Almanac guided centuries of farmers through everyday tasks with weather predictions, humor, fun facts, and valuable advice on gardening, cooking, fishing, conservation, and more starting in 1792. We thought the Mathis Farmer’s Almanac could do the very same for our customers!
We started sharing posts from the Mathis Farmer’s Almanac earlier this season. If you’ve followed along, you’d have seen posts like these:
As well as other posts about when to best take care of your garden or farming tasks.
Our family used the Almanac ourselves for generations and even sold it at the store for years. Customers would always buy them up, most often to figure out when to plant crops, seeds, and trees. Robert specifically remembers figuring out what time of year we needed to cut firewood. It’s full of helpful tips and advice, and we made great use of it over the years. Making our own Almanac is a fun way to give all that back to you.
If y’all want to see any specific tasks in your garden or property you want advice on, or if you’re enjoying seeing certain kinds of posts, let us know on Facebook or Instagram. We do our best to provide y’all with anything you need, and we hope this has been helpful!
